Opting for black in kitchen furniture can be a little daunting… until you see projects like this! Carried out by our distributor in Extremadura, Nivel 2 Muebles, it is a clear example that black kitchens can be cozy and bright. Want to know how they achieved it? Read on and discover their design secrets.
Let’s start by analyzing the space. It is located in a square room that opens onto the garden, allowing natural light to enter. To increase it, our distributor decided to leave the room semi-open to the living room by installing a large glass window with black metal frames.
To continue reflecting natural light, the walls are painted white and a cream tone has been chosen for the floor. On this large white canvas, black was a safe bet. And so they did. Our Berlin model, laminated in this color, is present throughout the furniture of this kitchen with island. Looking for a clean and minimalist look, handles have been dispensed with. Thus, direct handles with a black Gola profile have been placed for the base units, and the Tip-On opening system has been used for the wall units (simply press lightly for the door to open).
Similarly, all the appliances that have been integrated into the furniture (refrigerator, hob, oven and microwave…), as well as the sink and tap, are black. Even the decorative pieces and small appliances are black!
What is the key to making this kitchen cozy and not dark at all? The first key is found in the center of the large set of furniture that dominates the room: an open breakfast bar made with our Alabama model, with a oak wood effect. In the island we see this same model creating a niche to break with the uniformity that, otherwise, could be too overwhelming. The extra touch of warmth is provided by the island countertop, in brown tones. Without a doubt, a success.
